The job holder works closely with the Category Manager to evaluate & improve category management processes & systems on an ongoing basis, and also drives the achievement of the desired business targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Category Manager in planning and implementing the overall Strategic Plan.
- Achieve the departmental Annual Business Plan (ABP) with assigned category analysis and actionable strategies.
- Ensure the right product assortment through increasing margins & profitable pricing strategy, targeted category range with comprehensive clustering, space planning and stock management capabilities.
- Execute with suppliers to forecast demand or create supply plans that ensure availability and smooth material management through stock/order analysis, availability trend analysis, demand base products selection to fulfil objectives
- Analyze inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns, reduce waste, or optimize customer service.
- Analyze information about vendors and evaluate vendor performance.
- Close monitoring of item-to-item in-depth sales and profit analysis, ensuring proper display and merchandising as per layout plan to enhance category visibility that meets customer needs while fulfilling financial objectives
- Negotiate with stakeholders to increase margins through more profitable pricing strategy & volume targets to execute precision merchandising with comprehensive clustering, space planning, and assortment management capabilities.
- To implement Commercial activities as per SAP MM module functionalities as per business objectives and carry out essential SAP system related tasks.
- Article Master: Ensure accurate information for article creation/change, auto replenishment parameters, and EAN issues.
- Vendor Master: Ensure accurate information of article specific info records, multiple info records, and site wise record & pricing.
- Ensure product availability in day to day activities with proper demand planning through SAP system to run smooth replenishment (Push & Pull Driven) and coordination with internal & external stakeholders.
- Conduct regular market surveys to evaluate market intelligence of product availability, pricing, product range information, consumer behavior, and share competition for category review, and ensure necessary strategies are in place to assess the development needs of the business at all levels in the context of regular operation and expansion.
- Drive more effective promotions to increase sales and profits by combining advanced demand forecasting and optimization with comprehensive price and promotion execution to meet financial goals.
- Assist the category manager in the development of strategic plans by sharing various types of required business analysis and relevant information in accordance with strategic goals and the corporation.
- Develop departmental planogram process for proper store layout, space management of product display & merchandising.
- Implement, adhere to, and monitor the effectiveness of QMS processes and procedures.
