Senior Database Administrator

The Senior Database Administrator will be responsible for both database administration and database development, with strong emphasis on PL/SQL, SQL development, query optimization, ETL development, reporting solutions, performance engineering, and database technology R&D. The role will primarily support PostgreSQL databases across production and non-production environments while also working with other database technologies such as SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB, Redis, Kafka, and emerging database platforms as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, review, and optimize complex SQL, PL/SQL, PL/pgSQL, stored procedures, functions, triggers, packages, and database-side business logic.
• Analyze existing SQL and PL/SQL code and identify opportunities for performance improvement, simplification, and scalability.
• Perform query execution-plan analysis and optimize poorly performing SQL using indexing, query rewriting, partitioning, statistics, configuration tuning, and appropriate database design.
• Support development teams in designing efficient database access patterns and resolving database-related application performance issues.
• Review database code before production deployment and provide recommendations regarding performance, maintainability, concurrency, and scalability.
• Develop reusable database utilities, functions, procedures, and automation components where appropriate.
• Exposure to database technologies such as ClickHouse, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, distributed PostgreSQL, columnar databases, or other modern data platforms.

• Strong in PL/SQL development

• Strong PostgreSQL DBA experience (configure, tune)
• Familiarity with SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB
• Strong Linux/Unix OS administration
• Shell scripting (Bash) for automation
