Head of Department - Physics / Chemistry / Biology (CAIE O & A Level)

Compass International School is a Cambridge curriculum school in Banani, Dhaka, part of Compass Education Group. We are hiring Heads of Department across three subjects — Physics, Chemistry, and Biology — to lead their respective departments, set the academic standard, manage the teaching team, and drive strong O Level and A Level results. This posting covers 3 separate openings, one per subject.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage your department, including curriculum planning, teaching standards, and resource allocation
• Set the department's academic vision in line with Cambridge O Level and A Level standards
• Conduct lesson observations and mentor department teachers, ensuring consistency in teaching quality
• Coordinate internal moderation, mock exams, and results analysis across the department
• Manage laboratory resources, equipment, and safety compliance for the department
• Continue to teach O Level and A Level classes directly in your subject
• Report on department performance and student outcomes to the Vice Principal/Principal
• Represent your department in academic leadership and planning meetings
• Communicate with parents on student progress, including during Parent-Teacher Meetings

Cambridge Exam & Lab Supervision

• Supervise and administer Cambridge O Level and A Level practical/laboratory examinations in your subject, in strict accordance with Cambridge International exam regulations
• Coordinate lab exam logistics — equipment setup, invigilation, and candidate management — for all practical assessment components
• Serve as the department's primary liaison with the Exams Officer/Academic Coordinator for Cambridge exam entries and practical exam registration
