Chief Operating Officer (COO)

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be responsible for the overall operational and commercial performance of Ronex Mart. The COO will lead the day-to-day retail operation, drive sales and profitability, establish operational discipline, optimize inventory and supply chain, strengthen customer experience, and build a high-performing retail organization.

The position will translate the company`s strategic objectives into measurable operational plans and ensure consistent execution across all Ronex Mart outlets.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the overall operating strategy for Ronex Mart in alignment with the company`s business objectives.

• Take end-to-end responsibility for daily retail operations and operational excellence.

• Establish standardized SOPs for store opening/closing, sales, cash management, merchandising, receiving, inventory, customer service, hygiene and safety.

• Build scalable systems and processes to support future outlet expansion.

• Own overall sales, gross margin and operating profitability targets.

• Develop annual, quarterly and monthly sales and operating budgets.

• Monitor gross margin, operating expenses, shrinkage and wastage to improve overall profitability.

• Develop strategies to increase average basket size, customer frequency and customer retention.

• Oversee the performance of all Ronex Mart outlets.

• Ensure stores maintain high standards of cleanliness, product availability, visual merchandising and customer service.

• Ensure proper cash handling, POS operations, refunds, discounts and end-of-day reconciliation.

• Establish clear accountability for Store Managers and outlet teams.

• Lead procurement strategy to ensure availability of quality products at competitive costs.

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, distributors and strategic vendors.

• Ensure FIFO/FEFO practices where applicable, particularly for fresh and perishable products.

• Establish robust inventory-control systems across stores and warehouses.

• Ensure accurate POS/ERP inventory records.

• Establish clear accountability for inventory discrepancies.

• Establish Ronex Mart`s customer service standards and ensure consistent implementation.

• Monitor customer satisfaction, complaints and service quality.

• Use customer feedback and purchasing data to improve assortment and store operations.

• Build, lead and develop a high-performing retail operations team.

• Set performance expectations and KPIs for Store Managers and operational leaders.

• Establish performance-management and incentive systems.

• Promote a culture of ownership, customer focus and continuous improvement.

• Ensure effective utilization of POS, ERP, inventory-management and reporting systems.

• Develop dashboards for sales, inventory, margin, shrinkage, expenses and store performance.

• Work closely with Marketing to develop store promotions, seasonal campaigns and customer-acquisition initiatives.

• Evaluate promotional effectiveness based on sales and margin impact.

• Coordinate store-level execution of all marketing campaigns.

• Ensure compliance with applicable Bangladesh laws, regulations and licensing requirements.

• Ensure adherence to internal policies and ethical business practices.

• Support the company`s expansion strategy and new-outlet planning.

• Continuously evaluate store productivity and recommend expansion, relocation or optimization where appropriate.
