About this course
Most people do not choose a career. They drift into one — through a subject chosen at sixteen, a first job taken because it was offered, and a decade that passes while they intend to reconsider. The result is often adequate and occasionally excellent, but it is rarely deliberate. Deliberate is better. Not because a plan will survive contact with reality — it will not — but because a person who has thought about what they are good at, what they want, and what the market pays for makes better decisions when opportunities appear. And opportunities appear unpredictably. This course is a working process, not inspiration. It covers honest self-assessment, evidence-based research into what jobs actually involve, goal-setting that produces action, planning under uncertainty, and the review cycle that keeps a plan alive. Work through it with a notebook; the exercises are the course.
