What does this mean ??

This was for a graduate role. "you'd outgrow the role" "You would come to me in 6 months looking for something more" This was all in relation to a rejection. Followed by "it was my gut feeling" The person who said this hosted the first round, but I still got a follow up round. If it was a gut feeling why waste my time
