Those of you who took the first job that gave you an offer (even though it wasn't ideal) after long-term unemployment, where are you now and do you regret it?

I have heard that people usually take the first offer that comes, but still apply for jobs on the side if they don't like the salary or benefits, etc. But wouldn't a company not hire you if they see that you have only been in your current role for a month?
