Someone who had the same problem?
so i tracked my applications for the past 2 months bc i was going insane not knowing why nothing was working. first batch, 60 applications, generic resume, same cover letter template just swapped the company name. got 2 callbacks. TWO. out of sixty... got kinda desperate and started actually reading every job posting properly and rewriting my resume bullet points to match their exact wording (like if they said "cross-functional" i made sure that word was literally in my resume somewhere relevant). sent out 40 like that. slower, way more annoying, took like 25-30 min per application instead of 5: 8 callbacks. idk the sample size isnt huge but going from like 3% to 20% just from actually tailoring stuff instead of spray and pray is kind of insane to me. wish someone told me this in january instead of me finding out in june anyway if anyone's in the trenches rn just wanted to share bc i wasted months not doing this
