Need advice: My emergency fund is gone after months of job hunting. What would you do?
I need advice on what else I can do to improve my chances of landing a remote job. I feel like I’ve tried almost everything, but I’m still not getting anywhere. I’ve been looking for a Virtual Assistant or Executive Assistant role for months now. I spend hours every day applying, editing my resume, writing cover letters, and preparing for interviews. I’ve had interviews, received rejections, and a lot of applications haven’t received any response at all. The reason I’m posting is because I’m starting to get anxious. My emergency fund is already gone, and I honestly don’t know how I’m going to pay my bills in the coming weeks. I also help support my family, so every rejection feels heavier than the last. I know the job market is difficult right now, and I’m not blaming recruiters or companies. I just keep asking myself if I’m missing something or if there’s anything else I should be doing. There are days when I feel motivated to keep applying, but there are also days when I question if I’m good enough. I still get up every morning and apply because I know giving up won’t solve anything, but mentally it’s been really exhausting. My previous attempts are: - Updated my resume several times based on feedback. - Customized my cover letters instead of sending the same one. - Applied to several VA agencies and job websites. - Reached out to direct clients whenever I found opportunities. - Practiced for interviews and followed up whenever appropriate. For those who went through a long job search before finally getting hired, what made the biggest differ…
