Journeyman trades people that have pivoted to something else, where did you end up/ where were you looking and why?

I'm a long time commercial diver, piledriver, and welder looking for ideas on where to go next. I don't hate what i do and the money is great, the constant layoffs and not knowing what's next is getting a bit old. I got two small kids now that make traveling for work almost a non option for me. normally when the work is slow locally you can always find a few months of work in alaska or somewhere, always seems to be something going on up there. I have 2 trade school certs, some college but no degree. I've thought about going back to school but at 41 years old i feel like it's a little late. Been racking my brain trying to think of a direction, and all the obvious choices sound sorta boring and or don't pay the same. chat gbt is giving, air traffic controller, real estate broker, plumber, elevator technician, and electrician examples but i feel like reddit can do better. would love to hear some ideas.
