Is the repetition of job applications something that eats up so much time and drains you?

I am coming from a background in operations, so I tend to look at processes and ask where time is being lost for no good reason. Applying to jobs is one of the most repetitive processes I have ever been through. The same information entered into slightly different forms, across multiple platforms, sometimes in the same sitting. I have been experimenting with Chrome extensions that fill job applications automatically. What I found is that a reputable extension reads form fields on the application page and fills them from your stored data. It does not touch anything else in your browser. What I did not expect was how much the tracking piece mattered once I removed the friction from applying. Faster applying meant more applications, and without structure, I lost visibility into where things stood. What systems or tools have you found actually improve the process?
