Is it appropriate to ask my boss if they can check my notes to see if I'm doing things correctly or if I missed something?

So, my boss is training me on a procedure I have absolutely no experience with. To be completely honest, I feel so dumb because sometimes I don't understand what she asks me to do. Sometimes I genuinely have no idea what to do. I've only done this task twice. To solve this problem, I created a mini instruction manual for myself. I wrote down everything I know about the task, but since my boss only gave me verbal instructions, I'm sure I'm forgetting something. She can't be there with me and watch me do the task, so I want to make sure I can do it by myself. My plan was to send her my PDF and ask her if she could look over it and potentially add notes or correct things. However, I have no idea if this is appropriate or childish. This is my very first corporate job so I'm still unsure about what's appropriate and what's not. What do you guys think?
