If you are going to exaggerate/lie on your resume, don’t link to your LinkedIn with a completely different work history

Twice this week I have had to pass on a candidate who listed completely different jobs then what their title is in LinkedIn with no explanation - resume says Analyst, LinkedIn says administrative intern for example. In the second, resume listed Senior Manager - Learning and Development. Then their LinkedIn has same company and dates of employment but the title is Sales Manager. At that point I can’t trust anything you’ve put in your resume and will have to pass. It’s different if a person slightly changed the title to make it clearer to the recruiter their actual responsibilities, and another to just totally make things up.
