I am done with the job market and these recruiters
No experience? “We need someone who can hit the ground running.” 6 months of experience? “Not enough.” 1 year of experience? “Looking for someone more senior.” 10 years of experience? “Overqualified.” Freelance experience? “Doesn’t count.” Self-employed? “Hard to evaluate.” Part-time experience? “Not enough exposure.” Internship experience? “Only an internship.” Stayed at one company for 5 years? “Lacks variety.” Changed companies twice in 3 years? “Job hopper.” Took a career break? “Can you explain the gap?” Degree? “Where’s the experience?” Experience? “Not the right experience.” Certifications? “Need more hands-on work.” No certifications? “We’d like to see industry certs.” Tailored your CV? “Not quite the right fit.” Used one CV everywhere? “Low effort.” Applied online? Ghosted. Emailed the recruiter? “Please apply through our careers page.” Followed up? “Too pushy.” Didn’t follow up? “Didn’t seem interested .”
