Hate doing useless unpaid long ass case studies for interviews

Since my layoff about 10 months ago, I was looking around for jobs and I've done so many case studies for different interviews only to not get an offer. On average I think it must have been at least 1 case study a month that would take a couple of days each, which I find to be super miserable. I know this is the name of the game and I am not really in a position to turn them down, but I really hate doing all these long ass case studies for all these companies. If it was maybe 2 or 3 case studies and I got to an offer, I won't see it as a big deal. But I have done so many already, even for companies that aren't that prestigious they also want to put people through this hellhole. Frankly for all the case studies collected I wonder if the company is actually hiring in the first place. I know some people may think what's the big deal, you're unemployed anyway you have the free time. Yes I have more free time but my time is not free I'm not getting paid you know. I can't put this on my CV saying I did unpaid labour for 10 independent projects for 10 clients right. There are so many other better ways I could have spent my time. If I volunteered I could just say that at interviews and I would probably be happier. Or spend going for networking events to meet more new people. Or take time to do a course I could put that on a CV. Or even posting on Reddit which at least isn't as miserable. I feel like the worst part about this is it's just wasted time, especially some of the case studies that are very time consuming. Yes at least for the past few months thanks…
