Do I apply to a job I was rejected from?

FOR CONTEXT: I recently applied to a job that I was extremely interested in. I got a phone interview and then advanced to an in person interview. I thought it went well, but I was wrong. I received my rejection email a week after the in person interview. I am young for the position and definitely don’t have as much experience, but there were 55 applicants and they selected 8 to move forward with phone screenings. I was one of the 8 and then also got an in person interview after that. I went a lot farther than I expected if I’m being honest. I do have relevant experience, just not as many years as other applicants probably. Anyway, the context regarding this post is that I saw they re posted the position a week ago. I talked to someone who works there and found out someone is leaving with short notice so they have another opening (hence the job being posted again). Should I re apply even though I was rejected for the position originally or would I look stupid?
