Close to giving up

I've applied to who knows how many jobs at this point and still nothing. Most places ghost me, others don't know when they are doing interviews, others wait days to pull your application online, its nothing but a constant waiting game. Im applying for jobs that play to my strengths and other jobs where my experience easily transfers over to the role, and yet get passed up on interviews. The few interviews I've had lead me on. One job did a standard interview, then a lunch interview, and finally got called in to do a work interview (work half the day to see how I fit in) and didnt end up getting the job. The next one I interviewed for offered me the job, but their background check was a pass/fail system, and since I have a misdemeanor on my record, I didnt get the job. Then I follow up with one company a few times to make sure they got my application (1st time the one who pulls the applications was out, the 2nd I show after that person gets back to see if they got it) and then the job stays open for the next 3 weeks. It finally closed today and im not feeling hopeful that I'll get an interview for it (even after I crafted a nice cover letter about my skills and what I could bring to the role). Im genuinely freaking out over here. I got child support to pay, fines, fees, and other bills to worry about too. I just feel so overwhelmed and don't see a light at the end of the tunnel anymore. This is what I get for living in a small in town I guess.
