Accepted a new job while in training for a promotion at my current job, feeling guilty but it’s the right move. Anyone been through this?

Hey, looking for some advice and reassurance. I’ve been at my current company for almost two years. For most of that time I felt stuck, I applied to several internal roles with no luck, didn’t get a pay bump, and felt like I was doing more work than my role required. Finally last month I got chosen for a new team they are building with a little higher pay, but by then I had already been interviewing elsewhere. The new job offer came through. Fully remote, better total compensation, and it fits my life plans way better long term. I signed it. They already sent me equipment. My start date is in 3 weeks. The problem is I’m still in training for the promoted role at my current job until 2 weeks from now and I need to give my 2 weeks notice very soon. I feel guilty because they just gave me this promotion and now I’m leaving while still in training. I know it’s not ideal timing but I also know this is the right decision long term, my current company doesn’t allow remote work outside the city and I’m planning to relocate next year anyway. I would have had to leave eventually regardless. What’s making me most anxious is the conversation with my manager. I’ve heard this company sometimes walks people out the same day they resign instead of letting them work out the full 2 weeks. I’m worried they’ll be upset that I accepted the promotion and then left so quickly. Has anyone been in a similar situation? How did you handle giving notice when you were mid-training in a new role? Did your company let you work out…
