Diploma in Textile Engineering, Chemical Technology, Laboratory Technology, Polymer/Materials Technology or another relevant technical/scientific discipline may be considered for candidates with strong practical laboratory experience.
A Bachelor`s degree in Textile Engineering, Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Materials Science, Polymer Science, Physics or a related discipline will be considered an advantage, but is not mandatory.
Practical analytical laboratory skills, scientific understanding and ability to operate instruments accurately will be given strong consideration alongside formal academic qualifications.
Preferably 2–5 years of hands-on experience in a textile, polymer, chemical, materials, testing or analytical laboratory.
Hands-on experience with DSC and/or FTIR is strongly preferred. Experience with both instruments will be a significant advantage.
Candidates should have a strong laboratory/scientific background with basic knowledge of materials, chemistry, and analytical principles. Hands-on DSC and/or FTIR experience is strongly preferred.
Candidates with practical experience on other analytical instruments such as TGA, SEM/microscopy, rheometer, viscometer or goniometer are also encouraged to apply if they have the ability and willingness to learn DSC and FTIR.
Experience analyzing textile, polymer, coating, chemical or related industrial materials will be an advantage.
The candidate must be comfortable performing laboratory work personally rather than supervising operators or managing a laboratory team.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Basic to good understanding of chemistry, polymers/materials and textile fibers sufficient to understand the purpose and principles of analytical measurements.
Ability to follow analytical methods and SOPs accurately and to understand the importance of sample preparation, calibration, measurement conditions and data quality.
Good analytical and observational skills, attention to detail and a methodical approach to laboratory work.
Ability to recognize abnormal or questionable measurement results and perform basic troubleshooting before escalating complex analytical problems.
Willingness and ability to learn new analytical instruments, software and characterization methods.
Spoken and written English must be at a good working level for effective communication and for understanding technical manuals, scientific/technical literature, specifications, standards and instrument instructions.
The candidate must be able to prepare clear, accurate and well-structured technical reports in English describing analytical methods, results, observations and conclusions.
Good computer skills for data handling, preparation of graphs/tables and technical reporting using standard office software. Experience with instrument-specific analytical software is an advantage.
Fluency in Bengali (spoken and written) is required.
Curiosity, accuracy, responsibility and a hands-on approach to experimental work.
Ability to work effectively with R&D project staff, testing laboratory personnel and other technical teams.
Candidates with relevant laboratory experience and the ability to learn new techniques may also be considered. Training will be provided on additional instruments.
