Job Purpose
The Hub in Charge will lead the day-to-day management of the Green Innovation Hub in Camp-15, a community-led platform that strengthens local economic resilience and promotes environmentally sustainable livelihoods. The role oversees the Hub`s functioning as both a technical service centre and a retail outlet, monitoring skilled refugee youth and micro-entrepreneurs to deliver quality light engineering, electrical, solar PV, and electronics services. The Hub In Charge drives technical mentoring, ensuring the Hub`s tools, services, and market linkages translate vocational skills into sustainable, community-owned livelihood opportunities. This position also supports coordination with CiC offices, and ensures compliance with administrative and financial procedures in line with project objectives
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the overall in-charge of the Green Innovation Hub in center, ensuring effective day-to-day management, cleanliness, safety, and operational functionality of the technical service center and retail outlet.
Oversee delivery of high-quality, locally accessible technical services, including light engineering, electrical repairs, solar photovoltaic (PV) system maintenance, and consumer electronics servicing.
Facilitate refugee youth and micro-entrepreneurs` access to shared high-specification tools, equipment, and workspace at the Hub, and ensure their proper use, maintenance, and safekeeping.
Coordinate business incubation, technical mentoring, and entrepreneurship support so that refugee entrepreneurs can establish, strengthen, and expand sustainable micro-enterprises.
Manage retail operations of affordable, quality-assured green technologies and electronic products, including stock management, pricing, and quality assurance.
Promote circular economy principles by extending product lifespans through repair and maintenance, encouraging responsible e-waste management, and fostering resource efficiency.
Link technical skills development with enterprise creation and market access, transforming vocational training into sustainable livelihood opportunities and strengthening community ownership.
Recruit, supervise, and build the capacity of technical trainers, Hub volunteers, and business mentors engaged at the Hub.
Ensure documentation and record-keeping of Hub beneficiaries, services delivered, sales, and micro-enterprise progress.
Ensure quality control of all repaired, serviced, or retailed products, in line with Hub quality-assurance standards.
Perform as the technical and business development expert on the Hub`s subject areas, providing guidance to Hub staff, trainers, and entrepreneurs.
Liaise and coordinate with the CiC office, camp authorities, government bodies, UN agencies, NGOs, and local suppliers for smooth Hub operations.
Contribute to the Hub`s M&E system, tracking economic, social, and environmental impact indicators, and feeding learning into management decision-making.
Prepare regular (daily/weekly/monthly) reports on Hub performance, sales, and beneficiary/enterprise progress as required by BRAC and donor agencies.
Develop and maintain good working relationships with communities, entrepreneurs, and other stakeholders.
Perform Community Feedback and Response Mechanism (CFRM) functions, and provide safeguarding, PSEA, and CFRM awareness sessions to Hub users and participants.
Represent BRAC in coordination and collaboration meetings and other forums with the government, UN, and other NGOs and agencies.
Safeguarding
Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme`s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment
Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action
Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so
