Responsibilities & Context

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Commercial Executive or Assistant Manager to lead our commercial import activities.

The ideal candidate will hold primary responsibility for managing the end-to-end import life cycle, ensuring seamless documentation, strict regulatory compliance, and effective coordination with internal and external stakeholders. A strong command of BGMEA, BTMA, Bangladesh Bank guidelines, and customs regulations within the RMG sector is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Meticulously review Proforma Invoices (PI), ensuring accurate goods descriptions and HS Codes align with the company’s Bond License.
Crucially verify that quantities and financial amounts in Back-to-Back (BTB) L/Cs align precisely with the pre-approved costing sheets before opening.
Independently handle the preparation, opening, and amendment of all types of local and foreign L/Cs (BTB and Cash) in compliance with Bangladesh Bank import policies and company protocols.
Negotiate commercial terms with suppliers, including L/C clauses, payment acceptance, and settlement schedules.
Oversee the entire import process, regularly monitoring and tracking shipments at various stages to ensure timely arrival into the factory.
Manage relationships with Freight Forwarders, C&F Agents, Transport companies, and courier services for smooth operational flow.
Proactively manage the release and delivery of imported goods based on factory urgency, minimizing lead times and avoiding demurrage or extra charges.
Manage insurance coverage, including cover note collection, policy adherence, and the preparation of any claim-related documents.
Prepare necessary documentation for BGMEA certificates and Bank Guarantees required for releasing capital machinery and spare parts.
Ensure accurate maintenance and updating of all import-related registers and Pass Book entries.
Collaborate closely with Merchandising, Supply Chain, Production, and Accounts teams to ensure commercial activities are synchronized with production goals.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
