Must follow Drug Act & Pharmacy Council rules
Adhere to ethical pharmacy practice
Proper handling of controlled and prescription-only medicines
Selling medicines as per doctor’s prescription
Ensuring correct medicine, dosage, and quantity
Maintaining proper storage of medicines (temperature, expiry date, batch number)
Checking and removing expired or damaged medicines
Keeping daily sales records and cash handling
Managing stock inventory and re-ordering
Maintaining cleanliness and discipline in the pharmacy
Assisting customers with basic medicine-related queries (non-clinical)
Prohibited Responsibilities
Must NOT prescribe medicines
Must NOT advise antibiotics, steroids, or controlled drugs without prescription
Must work under the supervision of an A/B-Grade Pharmacist (where applicable)
