Pastry Chef

Q Hotel Dhaka is an upcoming Five-Star Hotel located at Purbachal New Town, featuring 152 guestrooms & suites, multiple restaurants, banquet facilities and extensive F&B outlets. We are looking for an experienced and creative Pastry Chef who will take full charge of the pastry section across the entire property.

The Pastry Chef will be responsible for planning, producing and controlling all pastry, bakery and dessert items for restaurants, banquets, room service, staff cafeteria, afternoon tea, VIP amenities and special events, while maintaining the highest standards of quality, consistency, creativity and cost efficiency.

Responsibility

• Take complete ownership of the pastry and bakery section of the entire hotel.
• Plan, organize and supervise production of cakes, pastries, desserts, breads, viennoiserie, chocolate products, sugar work, plated desserts and buffet displays.
• Develop and continuously improve dessert menus, seasonal specials, signature desserts and bakery items for all hotel outlets.
• Standardize recipes, portion sizes and presentation standards to ensure consistency across all outlets.
• Control food cost, wastage, inventory and pastry kitchen expenses effectively.
• Ensure strict compliance with HACCP, food safety, hygiene and sanitation standards.
• Train, coach, mentor and evaluate the pastry team to maintain high technical skills and discipline.
• Coordinate closely with the Executive Chef, Executive Sous Chef, Banquet, Restaurants and Room Service teams.
• Handle VIP dessert requests, special celebrations, wedding cakes and customized orders with creativity and precision.
• Maintain proper storage, stock rotation and quality control of all pastry ingredients and finished products.
• Inspect pastry equipment and work areas regularly and coordinate timely maintenance.
• Continuously research global dessert trends and introduce innovative ideas suitable for a five-star hotel.
• Prepare production reports and assist in budgeting and cost analysis of the pastry department.
• Uphold high standards of cleanliness, organization, grooming and professional conduct.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Executive Chef or Management.
