Diploma in Electrical/Electronics/Power/or B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) under reputed public or private institutions.

Project Brief: The organization, with support from UNHCR, has been implementing the project Community Empowerment Promoted through Skills Development Initiatives for Rohingya refugees in Cox`s Bazar. The 2026 project has three interrelated components. Skills Development and Economic Inclusion covers technical and higher-level training, English and life skills, digital and financial literacy, employment and self-employment support, business grants, and Green Innovation Hubs. Female Hygiene Materials and Social Business covers FHM and craft production, safe wage-earning opportunities, quality systems, and responsible market linkages. Information Management covers post-distribution monitoring, data quality and security, cleaned datasets, dashboards, and analytical reporting. Together, the components seek to strengthen self-reliance, economic inclusion, accountability, and community empowerment.
Job Statement: The Green Innovation Hub (GIH) Technical Assistant (TA) will be responsible for providing hands-on technical support in electronics, solar PV, electrical, gas stove repair and maintenance, and fabrication activities. The TA will assist in troubleshooting and repairing technical equipment, supporting Hub members with practical technical guidance, and ensuring the smooth operation of technical services at the Hubs established within the UNHCR Skills Development Training Centers located in several refugee camps in Ukhiya and Teknaf. S/he will also support market surveys, supplier quotation comparisons, procurement, and price verification, as well as maintain accurate sales, stock, inventory, repair, purchase, and service-related records. S/he will work closely with the Technical Specialist and other project team members to ensure quality technical services, proper safety practices, timely support, and effective delivery of GIHTA activities for the targeted beneficiaries. S/he will perform his/her tasks in close collaboration with and under the supervision of the Technical Specialist (TS).
Job Responsibilities and Tasks
A. Key Activities:
Conduct daily inspection and routine checking of technical equipment, tools, and systems at the Green Innovation Hub in consultation with the Hub management and under the supervision of the Technical Specialist (TS).
Provide timely technical support and take necessary corrective action to address identified equipment, system, and service-related issues at the Hub.
Conduct regular servicing and preventive maintenance of solar PV systems, batteries, inverters, electrical systems, gas stoves, and other technical equipment and report technical issues to the Technical Specialist.
Provide hands-on technical support and practical guidance to Hub members in repair, maintenance, installation, troubleshooting, and safe operation of technical equipment.
Assist with gas stove repair, burner and regulator servicing, maintenance, pressure cooker repair and fabrication works, ensuring proper functioning and adherence to safety requirements.
Assist with repair and troubleshooting of PCB boards, chargers, power supplies, and other electronic devices.
Conduct market surveys and prepare purchase requisitions for required tools, equipment, spare parts, and materials in consultation with the Technical Specialist.
Assist in collecting and comparing supplier quotations, conducting price verification, and supporting procurement activities for the Green Innovation Hub (GIH).
Maintain accurate sales, stock, inventory, repair, purchase, and service records, and monitor stock availability of tools, spare parts, and materials.
Support the preparation and maintenance of technical documentation, including repair and maintenance records, equipment/service records, stock registers, and other relevant documents.
Conduct regular inspection of Hub facilities, technical work areas, tools, and equipment and report maintenance, safety, and technical issues to the Technical Specialist for necessary action.
Support the smooth operation of technical services and activities of the Green Innovation Hub (GIH) and ensure that all assigned tasks are carried out in accordance with approved technical specifications, quality requirements, and safety standards.
B. Reporting Activities:
Support the Technical Specialist (TS) in preparing monthly reports, progress updates, and achievement reports related to GIHTA activities.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of technical services, repair and maintenance activities, procurement, sales, stock, inventory, and other relevant Hub activities.
Support the Technical Specialist in documenting training, assessment, learner/beneficiary participation, and service-related activities as required.
Ensure that all assigned records and reports are maintained accurately and submitted to the Technical Specialist (TS) in a timely manner.
C. General Activities:
To assist project implementation team in conducting regular/monthly and need based meetings.
Regularly update the senior management on project progress and challenges in the field and ensure their timely solutions.
To ensure logistics and security to the project’s staff as per organization’s policies and procedures in coordination with Logistics department.
To create congenial/friendly working environment for all staff members and ensure appropriate learning culture adhering to all safeguarding issues.
To perform any other related duties or responsibilities when assigned by the organization/ project management.
