General Manager/ Executive Director & Head of Business

Job Context:

• Metal Seeds Limited, a Leading Seeds Research, Production, Marketing & Sales Company in Bangladesh, engaged in seeds research, varietal development, seed production, processing, marketing and sales in domestic and international markets, invites applications from highly competent, dynamic and result-oriented professionals for the position of Executive Director & Head of Business to lead the team. He will report to the Hon’ble Director of the Company.

Responsibilities:

• To provide overall strategic and operational leadership for the Company's seeds business, with responsibility for driving sustainable growth, profitability, innovation and market expansion.
• Develop and implement the Company's overall business strategy, planning budgeting etc. for seed research, production, marketing and sales.
• Lead the complete seed business value chain, from research and varietal development through multiplication, production, processing, quality assurance, marketing, distribution and sales.
• Drive business growth and profitability in Bangladesh and develop opportunities in international/export markets.
• Establish and strengthen relationships with farmers, dealers, distributors, institutional buyers, government agencies, research organizations and international partners.
• Develop effective sales and distribution strategies and expand market penetration across Bangladesh.
• Identify new crops, varieties, technologies and commercial opportunities based on market demand and emerging agricultural trends.
• Lead the development of export markets and strategic international partnerships.
• Ensure effective planning and execution of seed production programs, including contract and/or out-grower production where applicable.
• Ensure compliance with applicable seed laws, certification requirements, quality standards, regulatory requirements and international standards.
• Oversee product portfolio development, pricing, branding, promotion and market positioning.
• Build, motivate and develop a high-performing team across research, production, quality, marketing, sales and business development functions.
• Establish appropriate business KPIs, budgets and performance-management systems.
• Monitor market intelligence, competitors, customer requirements and industry developments and translate these into actionable business strategies.
• Maintain strong financial discipline, including revenue growth, cost management, working capital and profitability.
• Represent the Company before government authorities, research institutions, industry bodies, customers, partners and other stakeholders.
• Maintain strong liaison with BADC, BARC, BRRI, NARS, BARI, BINA and NGO/INGO for business opportunities
• Provide regular strategic and operational reports to the Management and recommend initiatives for long-term business growth.
