About The Role:
We are seeking a Fabric & Material Designer/Specialist who is responsible for selecting and developing upholstery fabrics, colors, textures, patterns, and finishes according to furniture product designs, market trends, and customer preferences. The role requires strong knowledge of fashion, textiles, color coordination, interior trends, and furniture design.
Key Responsibilities:
Select suitable fabric, color, texture, pattern, and finish according to each furniture product design.
Study fashion, textile, interior, and furniture trends to develop contemporary collections.
Coordinate fabrics with foam, leather, wood, metal, stitching, and other furniture materials.
Develop and maintain a fabric library and seasonal material collection.
Source new fabrics from local and international suppliers.
Evaluate fabric quality, durability, colorfastness, abrasion resistance, and suitability for upholstery.
Prepare fabric/material proposals and mood boards for new product development.
Work closely with Product Design, R&D, Production, Merchandising, and Procurement teams.
Develop fabric combinations for different product categories and price segments.
Monitor competitor products and international furniture/fashion trends.
Ensure selected materials are commercially viable and meet the required cost, quality, and production requirements.
