Consortium Coordinator (Strategy & Performance)

Role Purpose

The Consortium Coordinator leads this next phase of BYEC’s development. The role combines consortium leadership, team management and performance management. It is not only about coordination, but about building, scaling and leading a consortium model that connects young people to dignified employment and self-employment opportunities. The Consortium Coordinator will focus on three priorities: strengthening the consortium structure, driving hub performance and securing long-term sustainability.

• Lead and strengthen the consortium: Lead collaboration between consortium members and ensure that decisions are translated into action in a context where no single partner has full authority. Create shared ownership, clarify roles, manage tensions constructively and strengthen alignment around BYEC’s strategic direction.

• Drive performance and execution: Build and develop a high-performing team by attracting, empowering and coaching the right people to deliver BYEC`s strategic objectives. Guide and support Hub Coordinators and operational teams with clear objectives, practical KPIs and regular performance conversations. Use dashboards, data and field learning to monitor progress, address bottlenecks and ensure that strategy is translated into measurable action and results.

• Build long-term sustainability: Develop financially sustainable business models through diversified funding, employer engagement, service income and other innovative financing approaches. Identify and develop opportunities that strengthen the long-term growth and self-reliance of BYEC.

• Develop market and employer partnerships: Build and expand strategic partnerships with employers, private sector actors, training providers, investors and relevant government stakeholders. Position BYEC as a credible demand-driven partner that understands workforce needs and can deliver practical solutions for both youth and employers.

• Strengthen BYEC’s contribution to a better labour market: Guide hubs to contribute to BYEC’s broader goal of dignified employment for youth. Go beyond job placement by supporting hubs to work with employers, youth and local partners to identify labour market barriers and develop practical solutions. Ensure learning across the consortium leads to improved services, stronger employer practices and better employment outcomes.

• Innovate, represent and influence: Develop new services, improve hub models and test solutions that increase BYEC’s relevance and impact. Represent BYEC with senior stakeholders, including CEOs, directors, employers, donors, government actors and sector platforms, and communicate BYEC’s value proposition in a way that attracts strategic partnerships, investment and long-term commitment.
