Additional Requirements

Age At least 25 years

Minimum 1 or 2 years of professional experience in business development, client relations, marketing or a related role
Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
Experience with client management tools, proposal preparation, and business development processes
Experienced working within architecture, design, construction, real estate, or creative industries will be considered an advantage
Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Bangla
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and presentation software

Responsibilities & Context

At SILT, we do not see business development as selling a fixed set of services. We see it as identifying the right problems, the right people, and the right moments where our work can contribute to ecological and social resilience, and in doing so, build long-term relationships. Meaningful growth doesn’t come from volume alone, but from carefully understanding what we have to offer, finding where our way of thinking resonates with real challenges people and organizations are facing, and pursuing opportunities where we can create genuine value.

We are therefore not looking for someone who is comfortable simply making sales calls or following acquisition scripts. If your idea of business development is sending hundreds of cold emails and pushing for quick conversions, this role will probably feel frustrating.

Scope of Work

Identify organizations, institutions, industries, NGOs, developers, and public agencies whose needs align with SILT's expertise
Research prospective clients, industry developments, and emerging opportunities relevant to architecture, planning, and the built environment
Initiate conversations with prospective collaborators through email, phone, LinkedIn, meetings, and networking opportunities
Develop and maintain a structured database for leads, contacts, opportunities, and ongoing conversations
Track opportunities from first contact through proposal submission
Coordinate meetings between prospective clients and the design team
Assist in preparing proposals, presentations, expressions of interest, and tender documents
Work closely with architects and project teams to communicate the firm's capabilities, values, and project experience effectively to different audiences
Track business development activities, opportunities, communication history, and prepare periodic reports
Work closely with the founders to identify strategic directions for growth

Position Type: Part-Time (Female candidates preferred)

Work Hours: Flexible

Office space Accessible: Saturdays - Thursdays, 07.30 am - 05.30 pm

In-office collaboration: Sundays – Wednesdays, 07.30 am - 05.30 pm

As a business development manager, there will be client meetings, outreach events, and networking opportunities beyond these hours as they come.
