Assistant / Junior Merchandiser – Denim/Woven

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Senior Merchandiser in managing the complete merchandising cycle from development to shipment.
• Handle assigned orders and ensure timely execution according to buyer requirements.
• Prepare and monitor Time & Action (T&A) plans and critical order milestones.
• Follow up on product development, samples, buyer comments, approvals, and revisions.
• Coordinate with sampling, pattern, sourcing, production, quality, planning, commercial, and logistics teams.
• Assist in bulk booking/order booking and ensure proper communication of order details.
• Follow up on fabric, trims, accessories, sourcing, development, and approvals.
• Assist with costing, consumption calculation, price follow-up, and cost sheets.
• Participate in Pre-Production (PP) meetings and monitor action points.
• Monitor bulk production and proactively report delays or potential risks.
• Coordinate with factories and suppliers regarding production, quality, packing, and shipment readiness.
• Maintain order-related documents, buyer requirements, and shipment information.
• Prepare regular order status reports for the Senior Merchandiser / Merchandising Manager.
• Maintain accurate order information in ERP/PLM systems.
• Visit factories when required for production follow-up and issue resolution.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Apparel Manufacturing, Fashion Design, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 2–3 years of relevant merchandising experience in a reputed garment manufacturing company or buying office.
• Experience with international buyers will be an advantage.
• Bulk booking/order handling experience is preferred.
• Good knowledge of garment development, costing, sourcing, production, and shipment processes.
• Basic to good understanding of woven/knit garments, fabrics, trims, and garment construction.
• Good knowledge of ERP/PLM and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong follow-up, communication, coordination, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Willingness to visit factories when required.
