EPSRC Postdoctoral Pathway Fellow
- Bristol, United Kingdom
- Engineering Mathematics and Technology
- Laura Maclean
The role The EPSRC Postdoctoral Pathway supports EPSRC-funded PhD graduates who are excited about taking the first steps towards research independence with a two-year Fellowship at the University of Bristol. The scheme offers the opportunity to launch your own, independent research career in an exciting and innovative research environment. Postdoctoral Pathway Fellows will propose their own bespoke programme to conduct innovative research at the frontiers of Science and Engineering. Project proposals are invited across the full range of topics in the EPSRC research portfolio EPSRC strategy, re
PhD Studentship: Machine-learning for High-speed Aerial Vehicle Control
- Bristol, United Kingdom
The project: This PhD project will investigate new machine learning techniques, including physics-informed neural networks for dynamical systems, for controlling high-speed and highly-manoeuvrable aerial vehicles. Emphasis will be placed on bridging the gap between classical control and modern machine learning methods, as well as high-level path planning and low-level flight control. like A principal research aim will be to develop a physics-informed, meta-learned adaptive guidance approach, which can instantly adapt the guidance and control system to new tracking targets, atmospheric conditio
PhD Project (UK Students Only) in Optically Controlled Radio-Frequency Integrated Circuits
- Bristol, United Kingdom
- School of Electrical, Electronic and Mechanical Engineering
- Us Find
We are working on creating a new type of Radio-Frequency Integrated Circuit technology based on optically induced plasmas in silicon to create photo-conductive switches. This combines low-cost lasers with silicon integrated circuits, fabricated in-house, to make best-in-class switches, attenuators and phase shifters. The technology is very broadband (measured to 250GHz), high power (tested to 20Watts) and very linear with extremely low intermodulation products. This website outlines the technology advantages : www.plasmaris.com This PhD project aims to continue the more than 10 years of resear
