Institution:
Universitat de les Illes Balears (UIB) / University of the Balearic Islands (UIB)
The successful candidate will join the research group working on open quantum systems, driven-dissipative dynamics and quantum reservoir computing (QRC), contributing to the research area into the thermodynamic resources underpinning QRC, including energetic costs, dissipation and information-processing trade-offs in driven-dissipative quantum systems.
Their specific tasks will include:
Characterising the energetic and entropic costs of information processing in driven-dissipative QRC platforms, connecting the spectral properties of Liouvillians (metastability, spectral gaps, etc.) to thermodynamic performance metrics.
Investigating the role of monitoring and measurement back-action in quantum reservoir thermodynamics, building on the group's work on monitored quantum reservoir computing.
Requirements

Skills/Qualifications
A PhD in Physics or related areas.
Specific Requirements
- A solid command of numerical simulation (e.g.
- Python) and experience in analytical methods applied to quantum neuromorphic computing and quantum thermodynamics.
Language requirements:
English language skills would be a plus.
Experience requirements:
The successful candidate must have experience in complex quantum systems, quantum thermodynamics and quantum machine learning.
