About this position
The Universidad del Atlántico Medio is seeking to recruit a postdoctoral researcher to participate in the design, development, and analysis of research projects in the fields of Psychology and Education.
We are looking for a candidate with advanced data analysis skills, research autonomy, and a willingness to collaborate in interdisciplinary teams. A transdisciplinary profile will be particularly valued, with the ability to integrate different theoretical and methodological approaches and adapt to projects involving diverse topics, populations, and research designs.
Experience in the development or implementation of virtual reality interventions and in the use of behavioral, psychometric, and psychophysiological measures, such as eye tracking and pupillometry, will also be highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Design and conduct research in Psychology and Education, contributing to hypothesis formulation, instrument selection, and methodological planning of studies.
- Participate in the design, implementation, and evaluation of virtual reality interventions tailored to the objectives and characteristics of each project.
- Coordinate and carry out the collection, processing, and integration of data from different sources, including questionnaires, behavioral tasks, eye tracking, pupillometry, and other psychophysiological measures.
- Conduct advanced data analyses, select appropriate techniques for each study, and interpret and communicate results rigorously.
- Support and mentor predoctoral students in the design of their research, data collection and analysis, interpretation of results, and preparation of scientific publications.
- Contribute to the writing of scientific articles, presentation of results at conferences, and preparation of research proposals and funding applications.
Contract type: Fixed-term, 1 year. Renewable for up to 4 years.

Skills/Qualifications
- A transdisciplinary research track record and experience in projects connecting Psychology, Education, technology, and other fields of knowledge.
- Practical experience with virtual reality, eye tracking, and pupillometry, including protocol development, signal processing, and integration with other measures.
- Scientific publications, participation in competitive research projects, and previous experience providing methodological support or training to researchers.
- Strong scientific communication and academic writing skills in English, as well as familiarity with open science practices and reproducible research.
Specific Requirements
- PhD in Psychology, Education, or a related discipline, with a research track record in one of these areas.
- Strong training in research methodology and advanced proficiency in quantitative data analysis, including multivariate techniques and appropriate models for experimental, longitudinal, or repeated-measures designs.
- Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis and/or programming tools such as R, Python, Mplus, SPSS, or equivalent software.
- Ability to work independently, organize research tasks, and collaborate constructively with researchers and students in training.
