About this course
Mental ability carries **15 marks** in the BCS preliminary examination and appears again in the written Mathematical Reasoning and Mental Ability paper. It is the most score-dense section in the syllabus: the questions need no memorised facts, only trained patterns, and a candidate who practises systematically can approach full marks. The PSC syllabus lists verbal reasoning (analogy, series, coding, classification), logical reasoning (syllogism, statement-conclusion, blood relations, direction, arrangement, ranking), non-verbal reasoning (figure series, mirror and water images, embedded figures, paper folding, counting figures) and mathematical reasoning (calendar, clock, cube, age, number puzzles). This course takes each type in turn with the shortcut method, worked examples and practice logic. Read one lesson, then solve twenty questions of that type before moving on — reasoning improves by repetition, not by reading.
