About this course
After arithmetic, BCS mathematics draws on algebra, geometry, mensuration, trigonometry, statistics and probability. The written Mathematical Reasoning paper (50 marks) expects complete solutions with formulas and steps, and bank exams test the same ground. This course covers algebraic identities and equations, quadratic equations, inequalities, arithmetic and geometric progressions, set theory and Venn diagrams, coordinate geometry, lines and triangles, congruence and similarity, quadrilaterals, circles, two- and three-dimensional mensuration, trigonometry, heights and distances, statistics, probability, permutations and combinations, and exam strategy. Every formula is given with a worked example. Practise each example before checking the solution — that is what turns a formula into a mark.
