Master`s degree (MBA, M.Com, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Insurance, or equivalent) from a recognized university.

Minimum 5–8 years of experience in Life Insurance Underwriting and Re-insurance.
At least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.

Strong understanding of re-insurance treaties and facultative business.
Familiarity with IDRA regulations and insurance compliance requirements.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and insurance management software.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing underwriting operations, coordinating re-insurance activities, ensuring prudent risk assessment, and maintaining compliance with company policies and Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority (IDRA) regulations.

Job Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise the Underwriting & Re-insurance Department.
Evaluate life insurance proposals by analyzing medical, financial, occupational, and lifestyle risks.
Make underwriting decisions in accordance with company underwriting guidelines and authority limits.
Coordinate facultative and treaty re-insurance arrangements with local and international re-insurers.
Review and process high-value and special-risk insurance proposals.
Verify medical reports, financial documents, and underwriting requirements.
Ensure timely issuance of underwriting decisions and policy approvals.
Liaise with medical examiners, reinsurers, actuaries, and branch offices regarding underwriting matters.
Monitor re-insurance retention limits and prepare cession documentation.
Prepare underwriting and re-insurance reports for management and regulatory purposes.
Develop and update underwriting manuals, policies, and standard operating procedures.
Train and guide underwriting officers and branch personnel on underwriting standards.
Ensure compliance with IDRA regulations, anti-money laundering (AML), Know Your Customer (KYC), and company policies.
Assist in product development by providing underwriting and risk management insights.
Participate in internal and external audits related to underwriting and re-insurance operations
