Sous Chef

Job Context:

• Halda Valley Tea Lounge is looking for an experienced, skilled, and passionate Sous Chef to join our professional kitchen team. The ideal candidate should have strong culinary expertise, creativity, and the ability to support the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations while maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations.
• Prepare and maintain high-quality multi-cuisine food items according to standard recipes and presentation guidelines.
• Supervise and guide kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
• Maintain consistent food quality, taste, portion size, and hygiene standards.
• Handle food costing, recipe costing, portion control, and wastage control effectively.
• Monitor daily kitchen inventory, stock usage, and requisitions.
• Ensure proper storage and FIFO practices for all food items.
• Maintain food safety, cleanliness, and kitchen hygiene standards.
• Support menu planning, recipe development, and new item trials.
• Control food production costs and minimize unnecessary wastage.
• Ensure proper coordination between the kitchen, service, and management teams.
• Train and develop junior kitchen team members.
