The Role in a Nutshell:

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will design, build, optimize, and maintain scalable data platforms and pipelines using Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Fabric technologies. You will play a key role in helping clients transform raw data into trusted, usable, and high-value information for analytics, reporting, and AI-driven use cases.

This role goes beyond building pipelines, you will contribute to solution design, performance optimization, data architecture, and engineering best practices while working closely with Data Analysts, AI Engineers, Data Scientists, Consultants, and client-facing teams.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Data Platform & Pipeline Engineeringe Development

• Design, build, and optimize scalable, reliable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Microsoft Fabric, and related Azure services.
• Develop and manage ETL/ELT workflows for ingesting, transforming, and integrating data from structured, semi-structured, and unstructured sources.
• Support the design of modern data platforms for reporting, analytics, and downstream AI/ML workloads.
• Implement data modeling and transformation strategies to support business and technical requirements.

Performance, Reliability & Scalability

• Monitor and maintain pipelines and workflows to ensure availability, performance, and reliability.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement sustainable fixes.
• Optimize data workloads for cost, speed, scalability, and maintainability.
• Recommend and implement improvements to data engineering standards and reusable frameworks.

Data Quality, Governance & Security

• Ensure strong standards for data quality, consistency, integrity, and availability.
• Apply governance best practices including metadata management, documentation, and lineage.
• Implement and maintain data security, privacy controls, and role-based access.
• Ensure secure handling of client and sensitive data across platforms and environments.

Collaboration & Client Delivery

• Collaborate with Data Analysts, AI Engineers, Data Scientists, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.
• Translate business and analytical needs into robust technical designs.
• Support internal and client-facing teams with well-documented, production-ready data solutions.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Continuous Learning & Knowledge Sharing

• Stay current with emerging trends across Azure data services, Microsoft Fabric, modern data architecture, and AI-ready platforms.
• Share knowledge, mentor junior team members where needed, and contribute to a strong engineering culture.
