Senior Conversion Design Analyst (f/m/d)

Your mission

We're looking for a Senior Conversion Design Analyst who decides with evidence. You will frame real user problems based on qualitative and quantitative data, design a part of our product, form a view about what should change, build the experiment that tests it, and analyze the results yourself.

You will sit inside the product delivery team that focuses on user growth, working closely with the person accountable for that part of the business and with the engineers building it. And you will not be doing it alone: You join a group of Conversion Design Analysts across the company who work the same way and hold each other's standards.

English is our working language. German matters here too: You will be designing flows that German-speaking users read.

Concretely, you will:

• Design experiences grounded in real user needs and real neighbourhood life. Your job is to design flows and screens that are highly usable and intuitive and that earn their place by adding measurable value, not just because we can build them.
• Frame the real problem before solving it. Dig into quantitative and qualitative data until you find the actual question underneath the ask. Then make it explainable and actionable. A well-framed problem is half the battle
• Run the experiment, and read it honestly. Design a testable change, get it instrumented properly, and analyse the outcome. That includes reporting the tests that did not work, and saying what you would do differently.
• Talk to neighbours. Experiments tell you what happened, not what people needed. You will spend real time with the people who use this, because you cannot A/B test your way to understanding somebody.
• Direct AI, and spend your judgment where it counts. AI produces a lot of our first-pass design. You will brief it, push back on it, and hold the quality bar, so your own hours go to the thinking a model cannot do.
• Argue for cutting things. Adding is easy. You will help decide what earns its place and what should be removed, and be willing to make the case for less.

Your profile

• You practice product design and analytics. You might come from an analyst background and bring a love of design and design thinking, or vice versa.
• You have technical know-how and experience in setting up and evaluating experiments in an A/B testing tool, constructing the needed dashboards for the problem space you are working on and use our design system tooling.
• With sufficient data literacy, you get your own numbers through SQL query. You work with raw data to dig up insights and spot opportunities, without waiting for someone else to pull it for you.
• You have run experiments end to end: set up the hypothesis, decide on the right metrics to track, design the test variants, analyze the results, decide on how to continue.
• You have statistical literacy. You don’t need to be able to run R, but you understand what Bayesian vs. frequentist is about and why you do a power analysis before launching an experiment.
• You care about craft and are attentive to details. You can tell the difference between good enough and actually good and you design experiences people do not have to think about.
• You are fluent with AI tools. This role allows you to have more control and impact through both design and analysis, but to do this well you'll need to leverage (and at times extend) our AI enablement stack
• You present your work clearly, defend your decisions when challenged, and are comfortable in front of a crowd.
• Excellent English skills for working in our international team.

Nice to have

• Experience with a marketplace, community, classifieds, or other network product.
• Strong German, or the confidence to design in it with support.
• Experience building or maintaining parts of a design system.
• Comfortable writing SQL without AI assistance.
• You have basic dbt knowledge.
