Education

Bachelor of Engineering (BEngg), preferably Mechanical/related engineering discipline.
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering may also be considered, subject to the required certification and experience.

Experience

Minimum 8 years of relevant professional experience.
Experience in Manufacturing, Light Engineering and/or Heavy Industry.
Strong preference for Oil & Gas field/project experience.
Ex-Aramco approved candidates, particularly as Piping Inspectors, will receive first priority.

Additional Requirements

For QC Welding Inspector: valid AWS CWI or CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector certification, or COMPANY-approved equivalent.
Where NDT is part of the scope: minimum ASNT Level II qualification in the relevant NDT method(s), as applicable.
Candidates performing/reviewing VT, MT, PT, RT or UT should hold certification in the specific applicable method(s).
RT Film Interpretation (RTFI): relevant certification is required where RTFI activities are performed/reviewed.
Thorough working knowledge of ASME B31.3, ASME B31.4, ASME B31.8, ASME Section V, ASME Section IX, API 620, API 650 and AWS D1.1.
Knowledge of Saudi Aramco Engineering Procedure SAEP-385 (Piping, Equipment, Steel, etc.) is highly preferred.
Prior Saudi Aramco approval/experience is a major advantage.
Direct Oil & Gas field experience.
Previous Saudi Aramco project experience or approval.
Relevant and valid welding/NDT inspection certifications.
Strong knowledge of Saudi Aramco requirements, piping inspection and applicable international codes.
Industrial & Production Engineering / Plant Operations.
Oil & Gas piping systems and maintenance.
QA/QC welding and piping inspection.
Manufacturing, heavy industry and fabrication environments.
Strong knowledge of welding inspection, piping inspection, quality documentation and NDT coordination.

Responsibilities & Context

Eastwest Group of Companies is seeking an experienced QC Inspector – Piping / Welding for a Saudi Aramco project. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspection, quality control, documentation, NDT coordination, welding and piping compliance, and supporting mechanical completion and project handover activities.

Candidates with relevant Oil & Gas field experience and prior Saudi Aramco approval will receive first priority.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct inspection of piping, welding and fabrication activities against approved drawings, project specifications, applicable international codes and client requirements.
Perform visual inspection (VT) of weld joints, including fit-up, edge preparation, alignment, dimensional checks and welding-stage inspections.
Verify Welder Qualification Tests/Records (WQT), Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), ensuring work follows approved procedures.
Coordinate and witness NDT activities including RT, UT, MT and PT, and review applicable NDT reports and results.
Monitor material receiving, identification, traceability, storage and preservation in accordance with project quality requirements.
Inspect piping installation, flange alignment, supports and bolt tightening in accordance with P&IDs, isometric drawings and construction standards.
Witness hydrostatic, pneumatic, flushing and leak tests and prepare/maintain inspection records.
Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), monitor corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and verify effective close-out.
Prepare and maintain ITPs, inspection reports, punch lists, weld maps and quality dossiers/records.
Coordinate with construction, engineering, NDT and client representatives to resolve quality issues.
Ensure compliance with ASME, AWS, API, ISO and client-specific quality requirements.
Participate in internal/external quality audits and support project quality-management activities.
Ensure inspection activities comply with HSE requirements and permit-to-work procedures.
Perform final inspections and support mechanical completion, pre-commissioning and handover documentation.
