Project Engineer

Job Overview

NetZe Eco Energy Solution Limited is looking for an experienced Project Engineer – Solar PV to take technical and operational responsibility for assigned Solar PV projects from design and procurement through installation, commissioning, and handover.

The candidate will lead the project team, coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, local and foreign suppliers, and ensure that projects are delivered according to approved designs, specifications, schedule, quality, and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Design & Planning

• Prepare and review Solar PV system designs, layouts, Single-Line Diagrams (SLD), cable schedules, equipment specifications, and technical drawings.

• Perform site surveys, measurements, technical assessments, and relevant design calculations.

• Prepare and review BOQs, material requirements, technical specifications, and project documentation.

• Coordinate with structural, electrical, and other consultants where required.

• Develop practical solutions for on-grid, off-grid, hybrid, commercial, industrial, and rooftop Solar PV systems.

Procurement & Supplier Coordination

• Determine project material and equipment requirements based on approved designs and BOQs.

• Communicate with local and international suppliers regarding quotations, technical specifications, datasheets, product selection, availability, and delivery.

• Coordinate procurement and import of foreign Solar PV equipment and materials.

• Review supplier quotations, technical documents, compliance certificates, manuals, and other relevant documents.

• Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, clearing agents, and other parties involved in material delivery and import.

• Monitor procurement, shipment, delivery, and material availability against the project schedule.

Project Execution

• Take overall responsibility for the execution and completion of assigned projects.

• Lead and coordinate the project team, including technicians, electricians, subcontractors, and other field personnel.

• Plan and monitor site activities, manpower, materials, and project progress.

• Supervise installation of modules, mounting structures, inverters, DC/AC cabling, protection systems, earthing, and related equipment.

• Ensure installation is carried out according to approved drawings, technical specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.

• Identify and resolve technical or operational issues during project execution.

Testing, Commissioning & Handover

• Perform or supervise system testing, troubleshooting, commissioning, and performance verification.

• Ensure proper completion of punch-list items and rectification works.

• Prepare testing, commissioning, inspection, progress, and handover documentation.

• Coordinate final handover of the completed system to the client.

Project & Stakeholder Coordination

• Coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, suppliers, and internal teams throughout the project.

• Attend project and technical meetings and communicate project requirements, progress, and issues.

• Monitor project scope, schedule, quality, material requirements, and site progress.

• Report major technical, commercial, operational, and scheduling issues to management.

• Maintain proper project records and documentation.

Team Leadership & Accountability

• Take command of the assigned project team and allocate responsibilities according to project requirements.

• Maintain discipline, coordination, productivity, and effective communication within the team.

• Take necessary site-level decisions within the authority provided by management.

• Take full ownership of assigned project activities and remain accountable for successful project completion.
