Naval Architect

• Master's Degree in Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field
• 7+ years of experience with specialized vessels in one or more of the following areas: Expeditionary Fast Transport Vessels (T-EPF), Hospital Ships (T-AH), Dry Cargo/Ammunition Ships (T-AKE), Underway Replenishment Oilers (T-AO), Cable Laying/Repair (T-ARC), Rescue/Salvage Ships (T-ARS), Submarine Tender (T-AS), Fleet Ocean Tugs (T-ATF), Command Ship (LCC), Expeditionary Mobile Base (T-ESB), Fast Combat Support Vessels (T-AOE) or like vessels
• Experience with vessel stability calculations, mooring analysis, towing plans, ship salvage, and dry-docking operations
• Expertise in complex hull structures, arrangements, outfitting, and structural analysis
• Experience performing finite element analysis (FEA) and closed-form solutions for maritime platforms
• Experience with Optimoor and FEMAP/ANSYS (or similar software), MathCAD, Adobe Pro, AutoCAD, and MS Office Suite
• Self-starter with excellent people skills - able to work across teams and drive change throughout the MSC engineering organization
• An active Secret clearance is required for this position.
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
• Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, climb ladder wells on vessels, etc.
• Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve attending meetings.
• Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

The projected compensation range for this position is $89,100.00-$148,200.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
