Manager - Finance & Accounts

Job Purpose

The Manager – Accounts & Finance is responsible for overseeing daily financial accounting operations, transaction processing, and internal controls. The role leads the finance team in managing accounts payable, inventory accounting, monthly reconciliations, and trial balance mapping. The position also ensures the preparation of accurate, high-integrity financial statements and management presentations to support executive leadership and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Transaction Review & Internal Controls

• Review and approve day-to-day accounting transactions, vouchers, journal entries, and general ledger posts for accuracy and compliance with IAS/IFRS standards.
• Ensure strict adherence to internal financial controls, approval matrices, and authorization limits across all operational activities.
• Manage corporate bank accounts, fund movements, and daily cash flow management.

Payable & Cash Flow Management

• Oversee Accounts Payable (AP) workflows, supplier payment schedules, and working capital optimization.
• Review vendor reconciliations, purchase orders, and bill processing to maintain strong supplier relationships while managing cash flow effectively.
• Monitor statutory compliance regarding tax, VAT, and withholding deductions on vendor payments.

Inventory & Cost Accounting Oversight

• Review and reconcile inventory movements, raw material stocks, finished goods, and scrap across plant and warehouse locations.
• Collaborate with factory and supply chain teams to perform physical inventory audits and address stock variances.
• Monitor cost accounting activities, product costing, and cost variance analysis across manufacturing lines.

General Ledger, Reconciliation & Trial Balance Mapping

• Direct monthly, quarterly, and annual ledger closing processes.
• Ensure timely and precise reconciliation of bank statements, inter-company accounts, sub-ledgers, and main ledgers.
• Perform continuous Trial Balance (TB) mapping, cleanup, and chart of accounts maintenance to ensure structural accuracy before reporting.

Financial Reporting & Executive Presentations

• Prepare comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual Financial Statements (Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, Cash Flow Statement, and Statement of Changes in Equity).
• Structure and deliver executive financial presentations, financial analysis, variance commentary, and operational KPI updates for board and management reviews.
• Coordinate internal, external, and statutory audits, facilitating smooth audit completion and resolving query notes.
