Library Management
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the school library.
- Maintain and organize books, reference materials, periodicals, and other library resources.
- Ensure books are properly classified, labelled, shelved, and maintained.
- Maintain accurate records of library resources and inventory.
- Book Issue and Return
- Manage the borrowing and returning of books by students and staff.
- Maintain proper records of issued, returned, overdue, lost, or damaged books.
- Follow up on overdue or missing library materials.
Student Support
- Assist students from Playgroup to A Levels in selecting suitable books and learning resources.
- Guide students in using the library effectively and responsibly.
- Encourage students to develop regular reading habits and independent learning skills.
Teacher Support
- Assist teachers in locating books, reference materials, and other resources required for teaching and learning.
- Support teachers in identifying appropriate reading materials for different grades and subjects.
Library Environment
- Maintain a clean, quiet, safe, and well-organized library environment.
- Ensure students follow library rules and maintain proper behaviour.
- Monitor students during library periods and ensure the proper use of library facilities.
Record Keeping and Reporting
- Maintain updated library registers, databases, and inventory records.
- Prepare library-related reports when required.
- Report lost, damaged, or missing resources to the Administration.
Resource Development
- Identify gaps in the library collection and recommend new books and learning resources.
- Assist the Administration in selecting age-appropriate and curriculum-related materials.
- Regularly review the library collection to ensure its relevance and usefulness.
Library Activities
- Support and organize reading programs, book-related activities, reading challenges, and other library initiatives.
- Encourage students to participate in activities that promote reading, research, creativity, and independent learning.
Professional Conduct
- Maintain punctuality, professionalism, confidentiality, and a positive attitude.
- Follow all school policies, procedures, and instructions issued by the Administration.
- Maintain professional and respectful communication with students, parents, teachers, and colleagues.
