(Junior) Sales Manager - Licensing DACH

Your Job

• Take ownership of new-business development for Statista logo licences across the DACH region, converting a defined portfolio of relevant companies and organisations into new customers across national and international projects.
• Drive the full outbound sales cycle within your assigned accounts: identify the right decision-makers, initiate contact through cold calling and personalised outreach, generate meetings, follow up consistently, negotiate commercial terms and close new business.
• Make proactive telephone outreach a core part of your daily sales activity, using calls to reach decision-makers, qualify opportunities and move prospects towards meetings and commercial conversations.
• Research additional contacts and stakeholders within assigned accounts where needed, ensuring you reach the people responsible for marketing, communications, employer branding and related functions.
• Build trusted relationships with decision-makers, understand their communication and branding objectives, and clearly demonstrate the commercial value of using Statista awards, seals and logo licences.
• Create and deliver compelling customer presentations, proposals and commercial offers, adapting your sales approach to different customers and buying situations.
• Own your opportunities from first contact to signed deal, maintaining momentum through structured follow-ups, objection handling and negotiation.
• Maintain a structured and accurate pipeline in Salesforce, document customer interactions and use pipeline data to prioritise opportunities and next actions.
• Work closely with Lead Research, Project Management and the wider Licensing organisation, sharing customer and market insights while contributing to ambitious new-business growth in the DACH market.

Your profile

• University degree or comparable commercial training with a business focus.
• Native-level German and good English skills for communication in an international environment.
• Initial practical experience in sales, business development or another customer-facing commercial role; experience in outbound or B2B sales is particularly relevant.
• A clear hunter mentality: you enjoy opening doors, approaching new customers proactively and turning initial conversations into commercial opportunities.
• Genuine enthusiasm for cold calling and proactive outreach and the confidence to approach senior decision-makers who have not previously engaged with you.
• Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills, combined with the ability to communicate a clear commercial value proposition.
• Goal-oriented and persistent: you are comfortable with ambitious sales targets, systematic follow-ups and taking ownership of your pipeline from first contact through closing.
• Self-motivated, resilient and eager to learn, with a collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively in a structured sales environment.
• Familiarity with Salesforce and Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel, is a plus.
