Key Responsibilities:
Financial & Accounting Responsibilities:
- Assist in maintaining the general ledger, cash book, and other accounting records both manually and through accounting software.
- Prepare and record journal vouchers, payment vouchers, receipt vouchers, and other accounting documents accurately and timely.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations and maintain up-to-date bank ledgers.
- Process vendor bills, verify supporting documents, and prepare payment schedules in accordance with company policies.
- Maintain and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable ledgers.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Assist in preparing management reports, budgets, cash flow statements, and financial forecasts as required.
- Maintain petty cash transactions, ensuring proper documentation, verification, and periodic replenishment.
- Assist in monitoring project-wise financial transactions and maintaining relevant supporting documents.
- Coordinate with auditors and provide necessary financial records and supporting documentation during internal and external audits.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with applicable tax and statutory requirements, including VAT, TDS, and other regulatory filings under the supervision of the Head of Finance & Accounts.
- Support the Head of Finance & Accounts in day-to-day financial and accounting activities.
Administrative & Operational Support:
- Manage and coordinate bank-related activities as directed by the Head of Finance & Accounts.
- Oversee and maintain records of office assets, furniture, equipment, and other company properties in accordance with company policies.
- Coordinate with vendors and support cost-effective procurement of office supplies and operational requirements.
- Process vendor bills, verify supporting documents, and ensure payments are processed in accordance with company policy.
- Maintain updated vendor records and support vendor performance evaluation.
- Assist in maintaining proper documentation and records related to finance, procurement, administration, and operational activities.
- Perform any other finance, accounts, administrative, or operational duties assigned by management from time to time.
Required Qualifications:
Academic Qualification
Bachelor’s/Honours degree or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or any other relevant discipline from a recognized university. Honours/Master’s degree must be completed.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience in accounting and finance.
- Prior experience in an NGO, development organization, donor-funded project, or project-based organization will be considered an advantage.
- Good understanding of accounting principles, financial documentation, bookkeeping, and financial reporting.
- Working knowledge of bank reconciliation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal vouchers, payment vouchers, and receipt vouchers.
- Familiarity with VAT, TDS, and other applicable tax and statutory requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience working with accounting software will be considered an advantage.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Bangla.
- Good organizational, coordination, and time management skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle financial information responsibly.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and coordinate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
