Dhaka Awareness: Current knowledge of and curiosity about places, events, creators, businesses, and lifestyle developments across Dhaka.
Social Media Awareness: Ability to use major social platforms effectively to discover events, trends, creators, and potential content opportunities.
Digital Content Tools: Familiarity with basic content creation, design, and video-editing tools such as Canva and CapCut, or equivalent tools.

Dhaka Beat Magazine is looking for a Junior Content Producer to join our Editorial team.

The Junior Content Producer will research what is happening across Dhaka and turn relevant discoveries into accurate written and visual content for DBM.

The role will take responsibility for defined recurring content pillars while also researching and suggesting new content opportunities. Content will be developed using DBM’s editorial direction and templates, with final approval from the Chief Editor.

Recurring Content Pillars

Research and prepare assigned recurring DBM content pillars according to the agreed schedule and format.
Identify relevant events, places, activities, and other developments.
Verify key information required for publication, including dates, times, locations, prices, and participation details where relevant.
Submit complete content and supporting resources for editorial review by the agreed deadline.
Complete required revisions and suggest additions or improvements to assigned content pillars when relevant opportunities are identified.

Editorial Research & Content Discovery

Research Dhaka’s food, culture, events, wellness, design, travel, and lifestyle scene.
Use social media and other relevant sources to identify potential stories, places, people, businesses, experiences, and emerging developments.
Suggest relevant content ideas to the editorial team and explain why they may be worth covering.
Look ahead for upcoming openings, launches, events, and other developments so DBM can consider potential coverage in advance.
Check key information against appropriate sources and clearly flag anything that cannot be confirmed.
Contact venues, organisers, businesses, creators, or other sources when information, images, or access are required.
Research and develop approved ideas according to the agreed brief, format, and deadline.
Produce original work and follow DBM’s requirements for attribution and third-party content.

Event Coverage & Content Production

Prepare for and attend assigned events, openings, exhibitions, and other city activities.
Gather the information, photographs, and video required for DBM coverage.
Draft clear captions and short editorial copy for approved assignments.
Create basic static visual content using DBM’s agreed formats and templates.
Create and edit social media Reels and other short-form video content from captured or provided footage.
Prepare written and visual content for editorial review and apply agreed feedback and revisions.
Identify interesting observations or potential follow-up content from assignments and share them with the editorial team.
Complete assigned recurring content and individual assignments by agreed deadlines.
Keep track of assigned work and manage priorities agreed with the editorial team.
Communicate early when missing information, access issues, or other problems may affect delivery.
Work independently on clearly defined assignments while seeking guidance when requirements, priorities, or editorial decisions are unclear.
