Housekeeping Supervisor

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Supervise all Housekeeping staff and ensure proper duty allocation.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of patient rooms, cabins, wards, corridors, toilets and common areas.
• Ensure regular cleaning and disinfection as per hospital hygiene standards.
• Check patient cabins/rooms before admission, during stay and after discharge.
• Monitor cleaning of high-touch areas such as door handles, beds, switches and handrails.
• Ensure proper collection, segregation and disposal of hospital waste as per policy.
• Maintain adequate stock of cleaning materials, chemicals, toiletries and housekeeping supplies.
• Ensure proper use of cleaning chemicals and housekeeping equipment.
• Conduct daily inspection of all assigned areas and maintain inspection records.
• Coordinate with Nursing, Maintenance, Infection Control and Administration departments.
• Immediately report any hygiene, maintenance or safety issue to the concerned authority.
• Ensure housekeeping staff follow proper uniform, grooming, attendance and discipline.
• Train and guide housekeeping staff on cleaning procedures, infection prevention and patient-area hygiene.
• Handle complaints related to cleanliness and ensure timely resolution.
• Monitor linen collection, distribution and proper storage in coordination with the Linen/Laundry section.
• Ensure washrooms are clean, sanitized and supplied with necessary items at all times.
• Prepare daily housekeeping reports and submit them to the concerned authority.
• Monitor staff attendance, duty roster, leave and shift handover.
• Ensure emergency cleaning and spill management are handled immediately.
• Perform any other housekeeping-related duties assigned by Management.
