The Head of Finance will lead and manage the company's overall finance and accounting function. The role is responsible for financial strategy, budgeting, financial reporting, VAT and tax compliance, cash-flow management, project financial control, internal controls, and ensuring proper utilization of company funds. The ideal candidate should be capable of working under pressure, managing multiple financial requirements simultaneously, and providing strong financial guidance to management and project teams.
- Develop and implement the company's financial strategy in line with business objectives.
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and performance monitoring.
- Prepare and oversee accurate Income Statements, Balance Sheets, Cash Flow Statements, and management reports.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support management decision-making.
- Manage VAT, income tax, statutory compliance, and regulatory filings.
- Ensure timely submission of VAT returns, income tax returns, and other statutory reports.
- Liaise with NBR, tax authorities, auditors, banks, and other financial stakeholders.
- Supervise the general ledger and ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions.
- Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, invoicing, payments, and collections.
- Monitor and manage company cash flow and prepare cash-flow forecasts.
- Develop and maintain effective internal financial controls.
- Identify financial risks, irregularities, unnecessary expenditure, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Conduct regular financial reviews and coordinate internal/external audits.
- Prepare financial reports and present them to the Executive Team, Board of Directors, and investors.
- Work closely with project, procurement, administration, and other departments to maintain financial discipline.
Project & Requisition Management
- Review and evaluate daily financial requisitions from projects and departments.
- Verify necessity, justification, budget availability, supporting documents, and financial impact of each requisition.
- Ensure project expenditures are properly planned, controlled, and documented.
- Ensure efficient utilization of company funds and minimize unnecessary expenditure.
- Monitor project costs against approved budgets and identify potential cost overruns.
- Prioritize multiple financial requirements from different ongoing projects.
- Provide financial advice to project teams regarding cost control and resource utilization.
