General Manager - Tax

Job Context:

We are looking for a highly experienced, dynamic, and result-oriented Tax Professional to lead our organization’s complete taxation function, covering Corporate Tax, Personal Tax, Tax Compliance, Assessment, Hearing, Appeal, Litigation, and Tax Planning.

This is a senior leadership position requiring strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and proven experience in dealing with Tax authorities, Appellate authority, and the Tax Appellate Tribunal.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage all Corporate and Personal Tax matters of the organization.

Ensure full compliance with applicable Income Tax, VAT and other relevant tax laws and regulations.

Handle tax assessments, audits, notices, demands, queries, and correspondence with tax authorities.

Represent the company before relevant Tax Authorities, Tax Offices, Tribunals, Appellate Authorities, and other statutory bodies.

Prepare and handle tax hearings, appeals, reviews, revisions, and related proceedings.

Prepare and review documents, statements, submissions, replies, and supporting evidence for tax hearings and appeals.

Develop effective tax planning and tax risk management strategies while ensuring compliance with applicable laws.

Advise management on the tax implications of business transactions, investments, contracts, and other strategic decisions.

Monitor changes in tax laws, SROs, rules, regulations, and government policies and advise management accordingly.

Coordinate with external Chartered Accountants, Tax Advocates, lawyers, auditors, and consultants when required.

Ensure timely preparation and submission of tax returns, statements, reports, and other statutory documents.

Lead the tax team and provide strategic direction for all taxation-related activities.
