General Manager (F&A)

Job Context

Madina Group is looking for a highly competent, strategic, and experienced General Manager (Finance & Accounts) to lead and manage the overall Finance & Accounts functions of the Group, with special focus on Polymer/Manufacturing Industries. The incumbent will be responsible for financial planning, budgeting, accounting, taxation, VAT, cost control, working capital management, banking, audit, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management & Planning

• Lead and manage the overall Finance & Accounts operations of the Group.
• Develop financial strategies, policies, procedures, and internal financial controls.
• Prepare annual budgets, financial forecasts, business plans, and cash flow projections.
• Monitor financial performance and provide strategic recommendations to the Board and Top Management.
• Ensure effective management of working capital, fund flow, and liquidity.

Accounts & Reporting

• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Supervise the preparation of Profit & Loss Accounts, Balance Sheets, Cash Flow Statements, and other MIS reports.
• Ensure compliance with applicable Bangladesh Accounting Standards (BAS/BFRS) and relevant statutory requirements.
• Review general ledger, reconciliation statements, receivables, payables, and financial transactions.
• Ensure proper maintenance of books of accounts and supporting documentation.

Costing & Manufacturing Finance

• Oversee product costing, production costing, inventory valuation, and cost analysis, particularly for Polymer/Manufacturing Industries.
• Monitor raw material consumption, production costs, wastage, scrap, and inventory movement.
• Analyze cost variances and recommend effective cost-control measures.
• Coordinate with Production, Supply Chain, Commercial, and Factory Management for financial planning and cost optimization.
• Establish and strengthen internal controls to prevent financial irregularities and unnecessary expenses.

VAT, Tax & Compliance

• Ensure proper compliance with Income Tax, VAT, Customs, and other applicable laws and regulations of Bangladesh.
• Oversee VAT and Tax planning, return submission, assessments, and related documentation.
• Coordinate with external consultants, auditors, tax authorities, and other regulatory bodies when required.
• Ensure timely deduction, deposit, and documentation of VAT and Tax.

Banking & Fund Management

• Maintain strong relationships with banks and financial institutions.
• Manage banking operations, including loans, overdrafts, L/C-related financial matters, and other credit facilities.
• Prepare and monitor fund requirements and cash flow forecasts.
• Negotiate with banks and financial institutions for appropriate financial facilities.

Audit & Internal Control

• Coordinate statutory, external, and internal audits.
• Ensure timely resolution of audit observations and implementation of corrective actions.
• Strengthen financial controls, SOPs, and risk management systems.
• Monitor compliance with approved financial policies and delegated authority.

Leadership & Strategic Role

• Lead, mentor, and develop the Finance & Accounts team.
• Coordinate with all business units and departments for effective financial management.
• Present financial performance, key risks, and strategic recommendations to Top Management.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Management.
